THE HOUSE ABOVE THE VALLEY
SOME FULLY RESTORED KNIGHTS
The owners of this farm showed a great fondness for the world of horse riding, so the original stables were restored. A training track was also projected in an enclave where the air runs and you can see beautiful views of the valley. Framed by centennial oaks and lulled by the running of a stream, an area of the farm was adapted as an open-air hermitage to celebrate special events for the family. And you can't lose sight of the endearing little tree house built for the little ones.
A BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN THE TIETAR VALLEY
We found a house in a state of abandonment framed in the impressive landscape of the Tiétar Valley and we designed a project to enjoy country life with friends and family.
Our starting premises were the following: wide spaces for the development of family life, inside and outside, comfortable and practical rooms for rest.
On the original construction it was proposed to add a hunting lodge, a large porch and a glazed gallery that surround the old part of the house giving it a set of volumes and materials that break with its original symmetry creating very pleasant spaces from which to enjoy the impressive views of the valley.
The final project consists of two lounges on the ground floor, a dining room, a bathroom and a kitchen with a breakfast area. Upstairs there are five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two toilets and a games room with bunk beds, the perfect place for children to play freely.
LOOKING TO THE SIERRA
The stars of the house are the porch and the covered gallery from where you can see the mountains in all its splendor. The house is surrounded by a garden that maintains the same philosophy of simplicity that prevails at home. This was intentionally kept as wild as possible, trying to integrate it with the landscape. Climbers and fruit trees were covering the house over the years. A total of 450m2 built with simple and noble materials - mud, stone, wood - We work with the original stoneware flooring, recovering it from some areas to use it in others. The wood and exterior masonry for the chimneys were obtained on the farm itself and the porch tiles come from haystacks found on the property.
